The Incarnation of Sacrifice, also known as Mormo, is a unique incarnation born in 1435 after the massacre of hundreds of blood weavers by the Catholic Church. She was defeated by incarnation hunters after decades of sowing destruction across Europe but they did not manage to kill her. She was instead sealed for centuries, until she was reawakened in 2020.
Biography
In 1435, the Inquisition ordered the execution of over 700 weavers who were detained over the past year from all across the continent. It was to be a monumental sacrifice in the honor of the Lord. They were all stabbed and thrown into a massive pit, which was soon filled with corpses and blood. The stench of death drew all kinds of corpse eating animals. During the night, the monster Mormo arose from the corpses, consumed them and released her swarm of locusts across Europe, North Africa, and West Asia.
She slaughtered millions in her efforts, forcing the Catholic Church to accept blood weavers, and begged them to stop her. But she continued on, killing opponent after opponent for 278 years before being stopped by the Seal in 1713, a woven weapon that completely immobilized her.
She was then kept prisoner for centuries in the inter-dimensional depths of the Continental Academy until Gluttony freed her.

Mormo’s anatomy is meant to resemble an insect, specifically a locust. Her name comes from a monster in Greek mythology that was known for eating humans. Her technique, Bugonia, recalls the Biblical imagery of locust swarms being sent by God as punishment.
Mormo was born from the slaughter of weavers in medieval Italy, a reinterpretation of the phenomenon of witch hunts.
Her birth and power recalls Bugonia, the ancient myth that bees grew from animal corpses. In a similar fashion, Mormo arose from hundreds of corpses, and her insects lay eggs inside devoured corpses to reproduce and increase the size of the swarm.
She is the Incarnation of Sacrifice, the founding principle behind the birth of incarnations, the birth of insects in Greek mythos, and has the perfect form for blood weaving. She is the ultimate incarnation and blood weaver, bearing the title of Queen, which is also a reference to ant and bee queens.
Weaving
Mormo is has a humanoid form, with six arms instead of two and a very imposing stature. She is very physically strong and fast and her six arms give her an extreme advantage in combat and in blood weaving, as she is capable of casting every common technique simultaneously without using Zenith.
Bugonia technique
Mormo’s technique summons a swarm of black locusts from any amount of blood available to her. These insect act as Mormo’s external blood reserves and extend her birthright, they can be controlled remotely at any distance.
Their mandibles are strong enough to easily cut through flesh as well as hard metals and stones, they can also inject a poison that quickly rots flesh and makes it easier to consume. The may also lay eggs in a corpse, which the larvae will feed on, in order to easily reproduce and expand the swarm.
Zenith: Metamorphosis
Mormo’s body will automatically use construction to manifest insect-like body parts: a thick and hard exoskeleton, large insect wings, mandibles, antennae. In this form, she is extremely powerful and her body will automatically release more locusts without using any blood.
